The brief and challenge
The brief was to support the #Merky Foundation's Instagram activity throughout August, creating a series of campaigns that showcased its different initiatives and the opportunities they provide.
With five distinct campaigns spanning film, books, university scholarships in partnership with the University of Cambridge and HSBC, and Merky FC, the challenge was to communicate a broad range of messages while ensuring each campaign felt relevant to its audience and aligned with the wider foundation.
The content needed to balance clear communication with engaging creative, helping bring the foundation's work to life in a format designed for social media.
My role and approach
I worked on the design and delivery of five separate Instagram campaigns, creating visual assets tailored to the foundation's different initiatives. This included content focused on film, books, university scholarships in partnership with the University of Cambridge and HSBC, and Merky FC.
My approach focused on translating each initiative into clear, engaging social content while maintaining visual consistency across the wider campaign series. I considered how information was presented, how the creative would capture attention in the Instagram feed, and how each campaign could communicate its message effectively to its intended audience.
Reflection and results
The campaign series was well received on Instagram, generating positive engagement through likes and interactions. It was a valuable opportunity to create content across a diverse range of initiatives, adapting the creative approach to different subjects while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
The project reinforced the importance of combining strong visual design with clear messaging when communicating social impact initiatives. It also highlighted how thoughtful, platform-specific creative can help bring an organisation's work to a wider audience and encourage engagement with the causes it supports.
